Tips For Managing Upset Customers

One of the biggest keys to success in your business will be making sure that you know how to manage customers who are upset, or who have a complaint about the way they have been handled by you, your employees, or your company.

When an upset customer has a legitimate complaint, they can ruin a lot of business for you if they share their complaints with others, but when you are able to fix a situation with an upset customer, they will often be so impressed with the way you handled things that they will end up sending more customers your way!

Regardless of whether you feel their complaint is legitimate or not, the first thing you need to do is to acknowledge the problem; when you acknowledge that their complaint and convey that you understand the complaint, you will be on the right path to making the situation better.

Secondly, you should start taking steps to resolve the problem - but the mistake that many people make when trying to resolve a problem with a customer is that they allow the customer to dictate the terms of the resolution. It can be difficult to maintain the balance between keeping the power in your hands and still being helpful, but this is an importance balance to maintain - otherwise, you may end up with a customer who is not satisfied no matter what you do.

Finally, it is important for you to recognize the fact that some customers actually will not be satisfied no matter what you do; these are the customers who tend to complain with every company they deal with, and the best way to deal with such customers is to do the best you can and then send them on their way!

Managing upset customers is not always easy, but it is one of the most important aspects of keeping your business in good shape - and when you can start to do this effectively, you will maximize the positive news that customers spread about your company.

Tips For Making Money By Shopping At Garage Sales

When you start to keep your eyes open for opportunities to make money, you begin to realize that these opportunities exist in great abundance. And selling used items online is certainly at the top of the list when it comes to big, easy, profitable ways to make a bit of extra money. And while you might not have piles of useful used items laying around your own house, you can usually find great stuff for sale by others! As you start to frequent the garage sales and yard sales in your city or town, you will find that lots of items that would be great for eBay are being sold for "get rid of it" prices.

image

When it comes to shopping at garage sales to make some extra money, the first key is to start with a small-scale operation. Your eBay seller rating is important, so if you start out selling a lot of little items, you will be able to build a solid eBay seller rating early on. The optimal goal would be to make only a single, small investment in "product," and to let this investment pay itself back, after which you can use the money to continue buying new items. Start with about $50, buying lots of smaller items; you can double or triple this money, pay your investment back to yourself, and then use only this money for your garage sale shopping from that point forward!

After you have established your seller rating and begun to pile up a little reservoir of money, you should start to look for some items you can sell for a higher price. But remember, just because you think something will sell for good money does not necessarily mean it will; you need to do your research first. Instead of being reactive in your garage sale shopping, learn to be proactive, knowing what you are looking for even before you head out there.

Finding items that others want and making these items available for auction is really all there is to making money on eBay. And once your eye becomes practiced at spotting items that other people will want, you can start to seriously grow that small investment!

Bringing New Customers To Your Business

If you want your business to stay alive, the most important thing for you to realize is that 90 percent of your business is likely to come from ten percent of your customers, and because of this, you will want to do everything you can to show your current customers that you care about them and are loyal to them, as this will keep them around for the long run - but if keeping your current customers is the most important thing to keeping your business alive, the next most important thing is that you know how to bring new customers your way as well.

One of the best ways to bring new customers your way is to offer deals that will get these customers in the store; when you offer a great deal - running some sort of promotion for a few days or a week - you will get a lot of new people milling about in your store, and even though not all of them will become long-term customers, many of them will!

The way you go about advertising will also be a big part of attracting new customers your way; when you advertise, the biggest thing of all will be that you get the name of your business in the heads of potential customers, as planting your name in their head will make it that much more likely in the long run that they will turn to you when they need whatever it is that you are selling or providing!

And in the same vein as "keeping your current customers happy," you should realize that the greatest advertisement of all is word of mouth; when you keep your current crop of customers happy, they are far more likely to say good things about your company to everyone they know - and these people to whom they talk about your company will naturally be that much more likely to visit you down the road.

When it comes to attracting new customers to your business, there is no perfect formula, but when you follow these tips, you will be on the right path - which will place you on the right path for continued success!

Starting Out In Internet Marketing - The Basics

by: Mark Johnson

The most important aspect before you start out in internet marketing is to research the market place. This would include gathering information about your future competitors, the products they are selling or promoting, how they sell and promote and how effective are they. The biggest mistake that a lot of people make is to jump straight in and go down the affiliate marketing route. Most people will just try and post affiliate links on a variety of social media networking sites hoping that they will get a sale. Do not do this, it will not work.

Personal branding is key to your success in internet marketing. People do business with people and people do business with people that understand. So, first of all build a strong brand around the most important part of your business which is you! It does not really matter what you are selling or promoting, the fact is that people will not buy from you unless they trust you. The real value is in the brand and that value is you.

So, after you have found the right products to sell or promote you need to build a personally branded web site which will have personal information about you and the product or service you are promoting. Once you have done this you will find that it will be a lot easier to promote your personal web site or web sites instead of just promoting the product.

After setting up your personal bio sites and lead capture pages, you now need to think of how you can effectively drive traffic to these sites. Without traffic you will not generate any sales, so it is extremely important to use several methods available to you. These will include article marketing, video marketing and social networking.

Article marketing is extremely effective. There are numerous article writing portals available on the internet that you can join for free. As soon as you have written a quality article you can then post these articles and include back links to your web sites. With a few rich keywords you will be able to drive laser targeted traffic to your web site or lead capture pages. The more back links you get will increase your page ranking on all the major search engines and more traffic generated will undoubtedly increase sales.

Video marketing is becoming more and more dominant in advertising your business or product. The days of the long sales letter are nearly over, so marketing yourself effectively by this medium is very important. The videos you produce do not need to be a work of art or particularly very long. A short three to five minute presentation to get the message across to your audience is ample. Once you have produced the video content, these can then be submitted to video hosting web sites where you can again include back links in your member profile.

Social networking is growing at an incredible pace. The top social networking site now has over 400 million members. Believe it or not, you can generate an amazing amount of traffic using these sites and it is fun too. You can include back links to your sites in your member profile.

It all sounds too easy, but these are fundamental basics for starting out in Internet Marketing.

Tips For Gaining The Respect Of Your Employees

It is easy to look at everything on paper when you are running a business - determining all the things you need to do in order to achieve success in a theoretical sense - but this approach can lead to a sort of nearsightedness that causes the business itself to fail (even though everything "on paper" looks right), and one of the main reasons that this can end up being the case is because looking at things on paper can cause you to forget about the people involved; if you want to achieve success with your business, it will be absolutely vital that you understand how to first gain the respect of your employees.

One mistake that a lot of small business owners make is that they try to be friends with their employees, assuming that if they joke around with them and are friendly, these employees will work hard out of a relative sense of duty, but this rarely ends up being a successful approach; if you want your employees to respect you, you will need to start out by establishing authority, even when this is difficult to do.

After you have begun to establish authority - setting yourself up as the "boss," and making it clear that work comes first - you can move onto the next step of being friendly with your employees, even being willing to joke around and have fun with them; at the same time, however, you will need to realize that there is a certain point of "true friendship" that you may never be able to achieve with your employees, as you will need to keep a certain measure of space between them and you in order to maintain a sense of "respect."

And of course, observing the proverbial "golden rule" of 'doing unto others as you would have them do unto you' will be important; at all times, treat your employees with respect - never viewing them as a means to an end, but rather, viewing them (and treating them) as valuable assets - and they will return this attitude to you.

There is plenty more that goes into the success of a business than just what is seen on paper - and when you learn to gain the respect of your employees, you will be one step nearer to this success.

Tips For Hiring People Who You Will Enjoy Being Around

You will probably end up spending very little time around anyone you end up hiring after they start working for the company if you are in charge of hiring for a large business or corporation, but if - on the other hand - you own a small business and are looking to hire a new employee or two, you will probably end up spending a great deal of time around whoever it is that you hire. While you are probably not going to be looking for "new friends" through the interview process, it is always nice (considering the amount of time you will end up spending around the person you hire!) to hire someone who will not only do a great job for you, but who will be enjoyable to be around all the time as well.

When you are hoping to hire someone you will enjoy being around, the first step of the hiring process is the same as the hiring process any other time - narrowing down the applications to those you feel are most qualified; when you do this first, you will ensure that anyone you interview is (on paper, at least!) fully qualified for and capable of the duties required by the position itself.

When conducting the actual interview with each of these prospective employees, you will of course be asking the regular questions you would ask to assess who would be best for the job, but in addition to this, you should also try to be personable with each person you are interviewing; when you do this, you will be able to get a much better feel for who will be personable and easy to be around in return.

And once this new hire has started working for you - even if you felt in the interview that they were someone you would thoroughly enjoy being around - you may end up finding that you really do not enjoy being around this person at all; if this is the case, do not worry, however, as you will at least know that you hired someone who will do an excellent job, and that is by far the most important thing!

Tips For Keeping Conversations Short

People often say that time is money, and even if you disagree with this, you certainly feel that time is important. Regardless of whether someone believes time to be money or leisure or fun, one thing remains constant: time is important. And even though figuring out "how to keep conversations short" might seem like a funny thing to look at, it is also apparent to most people that there are some conversations they would rather end quickly. Regardless of whether these conversations end up occurring with a neighbor, a coworker, or a stranger, you will find that you have more time if you learn how to keep these conversations short.

Be polite: The best thing you can do, when aiming to end a conversation quickly, is to summon every ounce of politeness you can muster. If you try to end a conversation in a rude or abrupt manner, you may actually end up finding that the conversation drags on even longer! On the other hand, your counterpart will leave the conversation feeling fulfilled if you are polite and friendly throughout - which makes it much easier to end the conversation.

Recognize what people want to talk about: Even though conversation is intended to be a back-and-forth exchange between two people, most people truly are most enamored when they are talking about their own self. Turn every question the other person asks back to them if you are trying to keep a conversation short, as they will feel all right exiting the conversation as soon as they have told you all the things they want to tell you.

Know how to graciously finish: The toughest part of keeping conversations short is often the closing, as people try to make excuses that usually sound like exactly that: excuses. Instead, you should always end the conversation in the same, short, simple way: tell the person that you enjoyed talking with them, and say that you look forward to catching up with them again in the future.

If you follow these tips, you will not only be able to keep conversations short when you need to, but you will also do so in a manner that leaves your counterpart feeling fulfilled!

Tips For Using Press Releases To Help You Grow Your Business

One of your keys to success when you have a business will be figuring out the things you can do to gain an edge over your competition - and of course, one of the best ways to do this is to engage in promotional efforts your competition is failing to engage in; many people think of press releases as something that all businesses do, but the truth is, many businesses neglect this form of promotion these days, which makes it a great opportunity for you!

The first thing that will be important for you to realize is that a press release helps you to get the word out there about your business, without it seeming like you are "selling" something to those who are reading the press release - and there is really no limit when it comes to the frequency with which you can use press releases to keep your business at the front of people's minds.

In order for you to successfully promote your business without making it seem like you are trying to "sell" something, it will be necessary for you to write your press release in third person, and that you are taking a "neutral, but positive" approach in talking about the business and the topic at hand; in this way, you will engage the reader, while still remaining "neutral."

Finally, after you have written it, you will need to know what to do with a press release; the main reason so many people fail to take advantage of press releases these days is the simple fact that press releases used to be primarily circulated through radio and print media, neither of which are as lucrative as they used to be - but nowadays, press releases can be circulated online by simply submitting your press release to a press release database, which will give your press release a broad reach!

Spend some time learning some of the keys to writing good press releases - then start writing good press releases, and start growing your business as a result!

Is A Business Degree The Most Valuable Degree For Me?

If you will be heading off to your first semester of college this upcoming fall - or if you are already in college and are trying to decide what you want to major in - one of the degrees that will probably stand out to you as a 'good, solid choice' is a business degree. After all, 'business' covers so many areas, and even if you do not know what you want to do after college, a business degree has a pretty good ahnce of helping you get there - right?

Actually, as it turns out, as business degree might not be as valuable as it once was - and here is why.

Over the years, Business has grown into the major that students tend to choose when they do not quite know what they would like to do after school, and in addition to there already being lots of people interested in business, this creates a situation where large numbers of students are in every single class. Because the professors who teach these classes teach several classes each week - and because all of these classes have a large number of students - these professors are unlikely to hand out any "writing" assignments that are terribly difficult; which has been proven lately to be a mistake, as companies are looking to hire employees who know how to write!

If you have a genuine interest in business, a business degree can certainly still be valuable - but you should seriously consider pairing your business degree with a degree in another area of study that will require you to do a lot of writing in order to obtain a degree. Even though such majors as English, History, or Philosophy have long been seen as degrees that do not have much practical application in "the real world," the starting income for those who have such degrees is actually higher these days than for those with business degrees - which is certainly something for you to keep in mind!

A Look At Simple SEO Tricks You Can Apply Right Away

When you are running a website and are trying to boost the amount of traffic that is coming your way, you will probably be looking to take advantage of all the great things you can do with search engine optimization - but one issue with applying search engine optimization to a website that is already up and running (and in fact, one thing that can cause people to never end up applying SEO to their website at all!) is the fact that it can sometimes take a little while for the SEO tricks you are applying to make a difference, and because of this, it is valuable to know a few SEO tricks you can apply right away, for quicker results.

One reason many people feel that what they are doing with SEO is not working is because they are not getting enough clicks when people find them on search engines, even when their links are high in search engine rankings; in order to prevent this from being the case for you, make sure you use the titles of your posts in such a way that they will implore people to click on them, as this will help you to get a lot more people to visit your website.

You will also want to start deciding before you add new content what keywords you want to focus on - and then, you will want to apply these keywords as often as possible as you write the article; rather than just putting random content on your site with no strategy behind it, you can do a lot more if you make sure that your content is both focused and rich with keywords.

And if you want to increase traffic on your website, one of the best ways to do so - not just because it will help you to climb higher in search engine rankings, but also because it will generate more traffic on its own - is to get others to link to your site from their websites; this will stir up more people who know that your site exists, and will help you to climb higher in search engine rankings.

Keep all these tips in mind as you work to improve the visibility of your website, and you will soon find that you are achieving a lot more success with your website than you were achieving before!

Is Google Dying?

If you are getting started for the first time with search engine marketing, or if you have a small business that is fairly new, and you are just setting up your website, one thing you may hear from people is that you should focus on your online efforts on social media because "search" (or, because Google) is dying; this belief is still somewhat quiet, but because of the popularity of social media, this belief has been growing, and in order to understand the facts surrounding this belief, it will be helpful to look at some related statistics.
When it comes to the question of whether or not search is dying, one of the first things you should understand is the number of people who use search on a daily basis; while there are about 65 percent of Internet users who use social media (which is a very high number, to be sure), an average of 92 percent of Internet users use search engines - every single day!
On top of the fact that so many people use search every single day (which, of course, is a number that is so high it is unlikely to increase any more), the number of actual searches conducted on a daily basis continues to grow; last year, the average number of searches conducted each day was an incredible three billion - and this number continues to grow each year!

And if all these things do not do enough to strengthen your resolve in the fundamental importance of search engine optimization, and in the continuing strength of search, one final thing that is interesting to note is that Google's natural growth rate is 18 to 19 percent per year; this is the overall growth Google experiences even without changing anything, improving anything, or coming up with any new innovations - all of which, of course, are things that Google does each year!
The idea that you should sink some of your focus into social media certainly has plenty of merit, as social media is extremely popular online, but you should also realize that search is alive and well - and search engine optimization will be your best bet for online success!

Do I Need An Advanced Degree In Business?

Because the business landscape is so competitive these days - and because there are fewer jobs out there than there used to be - lots of people are discovering that it is nearly necessary to have a degree in order to find a job, but a lot of people are also discovering that they not only need a degree, but they need an advanced degree in order to land the job they want; while an advanced degree can certainly come in handy, however, it will also cost another couple years and several thousand more dollars - and because of this, it will be important that you understand whether an advanced degree is the right choice for you.

You should realize that much of your training for any job will come at the job itself, which means that much of what you learn in college - both in graduate and undergraduate studies - will go out of the window as soon as you get hired; for the most part, your formal studies will give you a foundation of knowledge and information that will help you in your career, and they will give you that all-important degree, but what they will rarely give you is the tools you will need for the job itself.

If you are wanting to someday work as a manager at a large corporation, there is a good chance that the time and money you spend earning an advanced degree will be well worth it, as you will greatly increase your chances of getting one such job.

On the other hand, however, a lot of people continue on in their schooling beyond their undergraduate studies, in spite of the fact that their desire is to one day start a successful business of their own; if you have thought that you want to start your own business after school, you should realize that going further into debt (and spending more time) to earn that graduate degree will probably not help you much at all!

The question of whether or not you need an advanced degree in business cannot be answered with a simple "yes" or "no," as the answer varies from situation to situation; once you figure out what you hope to do after college, you will be better equipped to determine whether you need an advanced degree - and then, you can begin chasing these goals you have!

Making Your Way Online As An Entrepreneur

If you are a small business owner or working in some sort of entrepreneurial capacity, you probably took this step in your career because you wanted to eventually be able to work fewer hours while making more money than you were making before; while this is certainly something any small business owner or entreprenur can attain, however, this tends to end up being the opposite of reality for most entrepreneurs and small business owners - and this is largely because they do not know the steps they need to take in order to dominate online.

The first step you need to take in order to dominate online as an entrepreneur is that you use search engine optimization to dominate search engines; some people simply use SEO as a means to gain a bit of extra exposure on search engine rankings pages, but when you take the time to learn all the ins and outs of SEOs, you can cause your site to gain a top ranking, and to gain tons of new traffic as a result!

In addition to learning the ins and outs of SEO in order to take full advantage of its power, you will want to use social media to get people to swarm to your site; social media is a great way to connect with people you would otherwise never be able to come in contact with - and these connections can often lead to a great boost in profits for you.

And finally, you should understand that your website will not be much good to you - unless you have this site optimized for sales; do not be shy to make it obvious that your site is in place in order for sales to be made, as this will enable you to make a lot more sales to the people who come your way!

Realize that small business and your entrepreneurial efforts are games that can certainly be won - and you can be the one to win in these games once you understand how to take the right approach, and when you implement this right approach in your efforts!

The Meaning of SEO in Internet Marketing

by: Terence Nason

If you are by now running an Internet marketing campaign or are pertaining to to go aboard on an Internet marketing campaign, one notion you cannot afford to hold back on is search engine optimization (SEO).

SEO is one of the mainly accepted buzz expression in Internet marketing but sadly most Internet marketers simply do not know enough about SEO to build this approach work for them.

Even those who are knowledgeable about SEO may have difficulty executing their SEO strategies to produce the desired effect.

Advertising is a very important part of running any type of business. You need to advertise to reach new customers and market your products or services.

Whether you run your business online or not you probably already realize how important it is to advertise but if you are running your business online you should understand there is a great deal of free advertising available in the form of optimal search engine rankings.

Well known search engines such as Google rank websites according to complex algorithms which are designed to determine which websites are most relevant for particular search terms.

Therefore taking the time and effort to optimize your website for relevant search terms may result in you being rewarded with high search engine rankings for these terms. This is important because most Internet users rely heavily on these rankings.

It is not uncommon for Internet users to only review the first few results when they search for a particular term. This means if your website ranks high enough to appear on the first page of the search results you will likely enjoy increased website traffic.

However, if your website doesn't make it to the first page or even the second page, it is unlikely you will receive a great deal of website traffic from visitors who use search engines.

Now that you understand why search engine rankings are so important you might wonder how to achieve these rankings.

The easiest way to optimize your website is to hire a SEO specialist to do the work for you. The world of SEO is complex and continually evolving making it difficult for most business owners who do not specialize in SEO to keep up with the changes in the industry.

Therefore, business owners who attempt to optimize their website by themselves may have difficulty keeping up with competitors who hire a SEO consultant to optimize their website.

The algorithms used by search engines can be rather complex and include a number of different factors. Some of the common factors in the equation include keyword density, META tags, titles, inbound links, website traffic and content.

Keyword density refers to the number of times a particular keyword is used in the content of your website. The theory behind this concept is that website which use a keyword often are likely extremely relevant to that keyword, however, overuse of that keyword may result in penalties to the website if the search engine deemed the keywords are not being used appropriately.

META tags are pieces of HTML code which some search engines use in evaluating the content of a website. Placing keywords in these tags can be beneficial in some search engines.

However, care should be taken to avoid placing irrelevant keywords in these tags as this may result in your website being penalized.

Inbound links are also used by some search engines to rank websites. Inbound links refer to links on other websites which point to your website.

In evaluating the worth of these inbound links, some search engines consider the rank of the website providing the link to your website. This means you should ensure the website providing inbound links to your website are high ranking websites to receive the most benefit from these links.

Finally, the content on your website can do a great deal to bolster your search engine rankings. Most SEO firms retain a staff of writers who are skilled at providing quality content which is also optimized for relevant keywords.

If you hire a SEO firm who does not providing copywriting services you should invest in hiring a professional writer yourself. This will help to ensure the copy on your website is not only valuable to your visitors but also considered valuable to search engines.

Tips For Using Twitter To Increase Your Business Presence

Twitter is seemingly everywhere these days - in the news, on the Internet, and even in casual conversation; furthermore, it seems that we hear whispers of all the ways Twitter can help us improve our business, but many of us - as hard as we try - cannot quite comprehend how using Twitter will help us grow our business. Of course, it's not as though the concept of Twitter is especially difficult to grasp - after all, it's nothing more than short messages of 140 characters or less (a lot like a facebook status update, but with fewer characters), but the problem is more that it is difficult to understand the right way to use Twitter in order to make it a good tool for business.

When you are attempting to use Twitter in order to promote your business, one of the big mistakes you will want to avoid is using this tool strictly to promote your business; while this seems like it would be the natural thing to do (after all, if you're there to promote your business, you might as well do so), it can actually be extremely counter-productive, as most regular users of Twitter use the site as an escape from the drudgery of their workday responsibilities - and one of the things they are least likely to do is follow a company whose tweets contain nothing but business-specific information on products and tools and other business-related things!

Instead, you should aim to also mix in items that will entertain or cause enjoyment for your followers - for instance, tweeting trivia questions about your business, or profiling a specific employee, and (with permission, of course) tweeting trivia information about them - and you can even consider using Twitter to give products away for free to your followers.

The Importance of Customer Loyalty to Your Business

The true strength of any successful business is customer loyalty and any business owner will attest to this. Benefits that emerge from customer loyalty are endless and will effectively determine a businesses success. Many people then ask how they can increase this loyalty. There isn't one answer, but rather a combination of different methods that can help build customer loyalty. Many of these facets an how to employ them are included in a book released by the Harvard Business Review which details their importance.

Harvard Business Review on Increasing Customer Loyalty.

Making sure your customers are coming back and bringing new customers with them is the main ideas behind customer loyalty. Executing this ideas is not simple even though the idea itself is. To start on the path towards this kind of success make sure that your employees enjoy their jobs. Employees who are happy will be much more willing to spread this pleasure on to your customers. Your customers will then get the feeling that something good is happening at your business.

Turning negative situations that arise into positive ones is another step to take. It is a skill that is rather easy to learn, but training your employees will definitely be necessary. When a customer has a problem there is tremendous opportunity to deepen the relationship. Start by exceeding the customer's expectations for a solution, never say no to them right away, and make sure that they know an exception is being made specifically for them. Customers who emerge from this situation satisfied will refer in addition to remaining loyal.

The Harvard Business Review has done extensive research and has found that there are certain steps that can be taken to increase customer loyalty. There is much more detail on the subject available in the book beyond the details listed here. Many of their suggestions are based on customer service, but customer loyalty is rooted in other arenas as well. You are able to come up with a comprehensive customer loyalty plan by reviewing all these topics.

Tips For Running A Company From Your Home

If you have ever dreamed of working from home, and of owning your own small business, the internet makes this a serious possibility. But while some people succeed in their efforts to do this, scores of people fail at the same time! If you have a dream of running a small business out of your own home, here are a few things that you will want to keep in mind as you get started.

1) What: Asking yourself what you will sell or provide is the first step to running a successful business from your home, as it will help you gain your identity. A lot of people make the mistake of trying to do too much at the beginning. A better approach is to start out in a specialized area, making sure you do a great job selling or providing one thing; as you become more successful, you can begin to expand. You will also enable customers to have a concrete understanding of what you provide or sell when you yourself have a concrete understanding of what you provide or sell.

2) Where: This is a big one that is often overlooked, as people think the internet means they can operate everywhere! But when you get started with your own business, remember that there are restrictions on how much you can do alone, and there might even be restrictions on how far you can stretch yourself, depending on what you are selling or providing. Take the time to understand exactly where you want to operate early on, before you ever get started; in this way, you will be able to gain traction.

3) How: How is "make or break" item, as lots of people fall short by having no clue how they will operate. If someone does not know how their operation will be run, they will fail, even if they have a great product or idea. You need to make sure you know these two "How"s even before you get started: A) How will I get the word out there, and B) How will my operation be run?

Running a business out of your home can be a dream come true; but in order for this dream to come true, you have to make sure you know the What, Where, and How!

Health Benefits of Flax Seed Oil

There is a lot of push for people to eat more omega fatty acids. You can eat fish and take fish oil pills, but another option is looking at flax seed. Flax seeds create an oil known as flax seed / linseed oil. Linseed has been used for paints, furniture polish, and even linoleum flooring, but we are starting to notice the health benefits.

Though flax can be used in similar fashion as grains, but flax is technically not a grain. It can be ground into flour or left whole to create a whole grain bread. The great thing about flax seeds is they can be kept for months and keep their nutritional integrity. Ground flax is really only good for a short amount of time because the oils in the seed can go rancid quickly. So having a grain mill and making your own flour may be the best option for optimal nutrition.

Flax has a high protein compared to wheat and is higher in omega 3 fatty acid. Omega fatty acids are incredibly important for our body. It is believe that omega 3 helps to fight against cancer, help to protect our hearts, and overall aiding of our health. The Healing Power Of Flax is a great read for learning more about the health benefits of flax. This book makes some strong cases for the flax seed health benefits.

My Top 5 Internet Marketing Tips

by: Jeff Schuman

I have a pretty good idea now what works based on my eight years of doing Internet marketing. There are many ways to develop an online business and advertise online, but here are my top 5 marketing tips based on my own proven success record.

1. Build your email list. It is interesting that that was the focus of my efforts when I started back in 2002. This is still solid advice today.

A mailing list you develop relationships with really can pay you back many times over. Think of it as an asset that will always be there for you even if other parts of your Internet business are not.

2. Use article marketing. There are so many things you can do with an article, but using it as a traffic source from article directories continues to work.

Online business owners will find your article and publish it on their blog or ezine. If you have a good title people read your articles which can lead to more traffic for you.

Search engines will also pick up articles from article directories. They will rank those based on the quality of the information and the use of keyword phrases they want for their searchers

3. Blog and social bookmark. Consistently adding content to a blog is an excellent source of marketing for your business.

Bookmarking your articles into social directories using a service such as Only Wire really makes a difference in terms of how search engines spider your site.

4. Focus on 1 or 2 keyword phrases. You should build a targeted keyword list to use in all for all of your online promotions. Your keyword list can be used to build webpages around those targeted phrases.

However, you are best to focus on a couple of your primary keyword phrases in your marketing efforts. Hyperlink those keyword phrases over and over in the resource box of your articles and you can quickly climb up the search engine depending on how competitive the phrase is.

Be realistic in the phrases that you target. Choosing long tail keyword phrases will help you rank more quickly. However a competitive phrase can be worth the effort in terms of long term traffic once you have made it to page 1 of Google for that phrase.

5. Automate and outsource. The only way to develop a full-time Internet business is to get more work done.

Automate as much of your online marketing efforts as you possibly can. Outsource what you don't have time to do or do not like to do.

These are five of my best Internet marketing tips. These are based on what is working for me and for other Internet marketers as well.

Completing A Long-Term Project More Easily By Tracking Your Progress

Regardless of whether you are a high school student, a college student, or a full-time employee at a desk job, one of the most difficult things can be working on a long-term project that requires a lot of work, as being unable to see your progress on a project can make it a lot more difficult to complete it. It can feel like a project is never going to end when you are working on it over an extended period; one way to counteract this feeling is by keeping track of your progress as you make your way through a project.

Setting up a step-by-step process of how you plan to approach a project is the first step you need to take in tracking your progress throughout a project; this will give you a framework from which you can work, figuring out how much work you need to do at each point in time.

You can fill in notes regarding your work on each section of the project as you begin to make your way through it; not only will these notes help you see how far along in the project you have come, but they will also give you a detailed breakdown of how much work you have done.

As you complete each section of the project, you can "mark it off your list," which will allow you see how many sections you started out with and how many you still have left to complete.

Discipline will, of course, be an important aspect of the project when it comes to a long-term project, as you can come up with all the "plans" and "charts" you want, but this will mean nothing if you are not maintaining discipline to work on the project as time passes. As long as you are able to focus on a long-term project from an early point - keeping track of your progress as you make your way through it - you should be able to avoid stress while completing any project in a timely manner!

Internet Marketing Business: Factors To Guard Against Business Failure

by: Charles T Chege

Success in Internet Marketing Business requires a solid and well written plan that is consistently followed with focus and commitment. In this article we look at the critical factors that contribute to internet business failures either by their absence or misuse.

1. Failure to use the proper tools

In order to succeed in internet marketing Business, you need to take your business seriously, project a professional image and invest in the marketing tools that make your life easier. These tools include among others a proper domain name, web hosting and an autoresponder. The perception of credibility is crucial when it comes to what influences your customers buying decisions.

Having your own domain name and web hosting provides you with the much needed flexibility to make any desired changes to your own website which you can not do on free replicated websites. An autoresponder assists you in capturing the contact information of your visitors, otherwise you will be wasting traffic and potential sales.

2. Failure to target the right market:

Improper market targeting is usually a case of choosing a market that is too broad. In a broad market, conversion rates are too low. You may be driving a lot of traffic but making very little sales. You need to look very closely at your product and the key words you use to describe your market. It is not just about targeting a market but about targeting the product to the market. Proper targeting requires narrowing down your market to a laser-targeted submarket, or niche.

3. Driving the wrong kind of traffic

Most new internet marketers are faced with a lack of knowledge about how to drive targeted traffic to their websites. This is often compounded by the numerous traffic scams on the internet that promise delivery of million of visitors at the cost of peanuts. These types of schemes should be avoided at all costs. One should concentrate his focus on time tested and proven traffic generating Methods that include:-

-pay-per-click advertising

-Article marketing

-Social networking

-Market-specific blogs, forum and groups

-website directories submission

-Traffic exchanges

There is more to traffic than just paying for clicks. Your strategy should include use of multiple traffic-generating tactics and methods that focus on targeted traffic.

4. The absence of a proven sales system:

In order to make sales online you need to have a step-by-step plan for driving traffic to your site and then converting that traffic into paying customers. This can be achieved by the use of a squeeze page or an affiliate product review page .The latter displays a full-length product review with an opt-in form below it. Visitors read the review, and if they like the information given, they opt-in to your list, where you follow up with them using more mini reviews through autoresponders. This way you position your self as a helpful expert rather than a salesman.

5. Ineffective {or NO} Follow-up.

For affiliate marketing success one needs to be strategic in his follow up . Some of the common follow up mistakes that affiliates make include:-

-Using the solo affiliate e-mails written for you by a product owner without editing them or changing them up.

-Too much emphasis on hype and hard sales pitches.

-Failing to educate or presell prospects.

Your customers need solid information about the product and how it will address their concerns. You should also attempt to build a solid relationship with your customers.

6. Failure to monetize through additional channels:

In any successful affiliate marketing business, big profit come from having multiple revenue streams. There are two main channels of monetization as explained below:-

a) Multi-product affiliate marketing.

This simply involves collecting a group of products for a target market and promoting them from one central location rather than setting up different websites with different squeeze pages. This way you provide a variety of product option to your subscribers.

b) Content monetization through blogging.

Creating a blog is actually an extension of building the relationship with your list .Your list is a ready made source of traffic you can send directly to your blog. In your blog you can insert additional profit opportunities for yourself Such as Google adsense and other merchant’s product banners with your affiliate link.

Monetization through these two channels ensures having multiple streams of revenue which is vital for your business success.

In conclusion the above six factors contribute greatly to the failure of majority of internet marketing business. One should always be on the lookout to avoid their occurrence or mitigate the incidence of their effects. Only then will your internet business experience a natural growth curve.

The Real Internet Marketing

by: Bill Tannar

So many people want to call themselves internet marketer. Are they really? Is this just some mystical occupation that no one can ever achieve? I don't have all the answers but here is what I do know.

In my experience marketing different business opportunities on the internet, I have found that the only real, true, "internet marketers" are those that have the ability to create their own traffic out of thin air. I am not talking about buying advertising from every company that will promise 5,000 visitors to your site for $97.00, but rather creating your own living, and breathing stream of qualified, and quality visitors.

With that being said, here are the top three ways to generate traffic, real traffic to any online business or internet business. If you can master even one of these techniques, you could probably, with the right program or business, find some real good success. Then consider yourself one of the few, true internet marketers.

My favorite method, and the first one on my list is real easy. So simple in fact that most people would never think it would be worth the time it takes to put it together.

Article marketing is the first method. What you are reading right now. Articles are free to write and there are tons of e-zine (online magazine) websites throughout the world starving for fresh, unique content to offer to their subscribers.

Write some articles on topics relevant to what you plan to promote. Next, submit that article to free article submission directories. You can even pay a small fee to some of these directories and they will distribute the content for you. Very, very powerful.

The catch of course is what you will see at the end of this article, a "resource box," or link to the web site of your choice. Not only does that send visitors to your site that have read your article, but it also creates a string of one way links to your page that the search engines love to see for popularity reasons. Very highly recommended.

A second way to drive traffic to the page of your choice is through free online classified advertising. Many of these ads will stay up for 45 days, and when they are free, do them over and over again for really incredible results. When there were times that I was down and out with no budget left to advertise with, these free ad sites helped to pull me out of weeds in a big way.

The third and final method for the more advanced marketer is pay per click advertising. Pay per click or PPC is super effective, however requires a skilled professional to really get the most out of it, without going broke. It is generally free to get set up, and then you only pay as people click on your ads.

I have a professional that I pay a small monthly fee to, and he takes the time to learn all the ins and the outs of PPC for me. He knows what will work, and what won't. I understand it well enough at this point in my career, but don't want it to be my full time occupation. I like to let the doctor perform the surgeries if you will.

Well, that is it for now. Three ways to drive traffic to a web site that will work. As I mentioned, one of them alone could take you to the top when mastered.

Imagine all three methods we talked about working together for you. Yea, that's what I call internet marketing.

We test home based business opportunities, so you don't have to. Have a look at our results. What program are thinking about trying?

USP: What’s Makes You So Different?

When I first begin to work with a new client I ask them one simple question, so what makes you different from your competition?

The usual response I get from 99.9% of business owners is: We provide better customer service or our product is better quality. This response is returned with such pride and they truly do not understand why they get minimal phone calls from their advertising.

The next thing I do is grab a copy of the Yellow Pages and open it to the relevant section that their business is advertised under and show them, look every one else is saying the same thing…

And most the ads in the Yellow Pages are name, rank and serial number style ads, you might as well just photo copy your business card and stick it in there.

But the truth of the matter is that the business owner has absolutely no idea of how to differentiate themselves from their competition.

Now better service or better quality are just ‘fluff’ words in my opinion. The mean nothing, especially to a new prospective client, all they are concerned with is: What’s in it for me? Or what deal can I get?

This is where most advertising falls down. Even though when you look deep enough into a business they actually do in fact have real differences, the problem is they don’t advertise it.

So you see you USP that stands for Unique Selling Proposition or similar words to that effect, this basically means what makes you stand out from the crowd.

I’ll give you an example to make this more clear: A driving school I worked with had their USP as; ‘’You Learn Stress FREE Or You Don’t Pay, GUARANTEED!’

They surveyed they client base and found this to be the number frustration their current students were experiencing, so they built a guarantee around it.

Now that may seem a bit scary to some people at face value but once you investigate their stats, they came into the market place of 200 competitors in their local area.

Once they started promoting this ad, they grew within 18 months to be the 2nd place behind the market leaders who had been established for 56 years.

Why? Because they offered a real difference, everyone else was saying the same thing ‘ We offer the best service’ but these guys backed it up with proof and said we are willing to put our money where our mouth is and if your not happy then we will refund your money.

And the best part is that out of 3000 students they taught over that period only 3 people asked for their money back, and they charged about $10 more than the other 198 Driving Schools they were competing against.

So you can now see the power of differentiation when used effectively. Now the next question is: What are you doing in your business that makes you different from everyone else? Once you work that out, advertise it everywhere.
